The Arnošt Lustig Foundation, established as an artistic-educational institution, works to cultivate humanism and justice by stewarding the timeless legacy of the renowned Czech author and Holocaust survivor Arnošt Lustig around the world.
The Mission of the International Literary Competition Young HUMAN-ists is to develop creative talents in young people while simultaneously strengthening humanist and democratic values.
This Competition is an important initiative for The Foundation, that seeks to personify the significant literary legacy and fascinating life story of Arnošt Lustig.
The Foundation also wishes to inspire a love of reading in young people, to motivate them to develop “the reading habit” and, last but not least, to teach critical thinking.
The Foundation seeks to use the voice of art to cultivate the soul, intellect and sensibility: thereby nurturing a humanism that demands a more just society.
